What is the Varsity Club?
The Idaho DeMolay Varsity Club is an internal marketing and motivation program designed for active DeMolay members and Advisory Council members. This program fosters enthusiasm, strengthens fellowship, and encourages members to take ownership of their chapter experience. Those who complete the program will be recognized as having “lettered” in DeMolay.
How It Works
The Varsity Club operates on a 120-day trimester system. To earn a Varsity Letter, members must complete at least one task in each of the five (5) qualification areas within a trimester. The program resets at the beginning of each calendar quarter, and no tasks can be carried over.
Key Dates:
- 1st Trimester: April 1 – July 31, 2025
- 2nd Trimester: July 1 – October 31, 2025
- 3rd Trimester: November 1, 2025 – February 28, 2026
Qualifications for Active Chapter Members
1. Leadership
- Mentor a new member (e.g., Proficiency Coach)
- Teach chapter members a new skill (Presentation)
2. Involvement
- Attend five chapter meetings and two additional chapter events
- Attend Convention 2025 in Pendleton over Memorial Day weekend
3. Planning
- Lead and plan a new event or take on an event for the first time (including Masonic or community service projects)
4. Needs Fulfillment
- Recruit one new member (must be properly reported to DeMolay International)
- Recruit one new advisor (must complete full training, background check, and pay fees)
5. Knowledge
- Complete and pass the Leadership Correspondence Course (LCC)
- Earn the Representative DeMolay (RD) Award
- Become proficient in a new ritual part and perform it at a meeting or public event
Qualifications for Advisory Council Members
1. Needs
- Recruit a brand-new advisor to the chapter council (no returning advisors)
- The new advisor must pass a background check and complete all necessary paperwork and fees.
2. Involvement
- Collaborate with chapter members to create and execute a brand-new event/activity
- Attend regular monthly advisory council meetings
Awards
Awards & Recognition
- Certificates & Varsity Letter: Awarded upon completion and certification of all requirements.
- Varsity Club Gear: Active DeMolays who complete all 10 tasks within a single 120-day trimester will receive an Idaho DeMolay Varsity Club hooded sweatshirt.
- Varsity Jackets: If Idaho DeMolay achieves 50 new members by December 31, 2025, all 2025 lettermen will receive a branded Varsity Jacket.
